Welcome to Castleside Primary School

We believe that learning should be enjoyable and believe that fun is an essential part of life at Castleside Primary. We want our pupils to leave with very happy memories of their time here, having achieved success and feeling motivated and enthusiastic about their future.
Castleside Primary is a special place - but don't just take our word for it. Come and see for yourself and feel the magic in this wonderful little school. We may be small, but we are mighty - and from small seeds, great things grow!

We were able to put all of our learning into a practical context. We saw and felt the vena cava, the aorta, the ventricles and atria and the difference in thickness of the muscle wall between the left and right side of the heart. We learned what the heart strings were for and examined the valves within the heart.
In the heat, it got a bit whiffy, but we soldiered on in the name of science. 5 Likes

Thank you for attending our event this afternoon. The children and the staff had great fun, and we hope you did too. Well done to all the children, your sporting skills were fantastic!
Also, a massive well done to Mrs Reay for winning the staff race dressed as an alien. The judges are currently reviewing the video footage due to claims of unsporting behaviour! 19 Likes
We also love freebies! Three free copies of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls! Hands up who is reading them first. Thanks DK Books and Read for Good 11 Likes
"They all explained the activities very well."
Today, our new Sports Leaders have provided Class 2 with a multi-skills festival in school, which was a massive success. The Sports Leaders have been trained in delivering sporting activities with confidence and enthusiasm.
Class 2 rated the event a 10 out of 10 experience, and are looking forward to working with the Sports Leaders during break times! 13 Likes
Summer Fair - the totals have been checked, double checked and triple checked......and drum roll - you helped to raise over £800 for School Fund. The children have grand plans to develop outdoor reading spaces, and the staff have grand plans for enrichment and themed learning weeks next year! These funds will help us to develop in lots of different ways.
2 weeks to go - keep up with the super attendance, fantastic punctuality, home reading and homework - learning will keep going until the bell rings for the final time!
Next week is another jam packed extravaganza - with Sports Activities on Monday and Sports Days on Tuesday - children can come in their school PE Kit on both days - but please wear your school jumper too so we still look super smart! No football kits please. If kits are in school, wear your uniform and we'll let children change when they get here.
Class 4 are also swimming on Monday - so don't forget your kit!
Tuesday - Early Years Sports day at 9am and KS 1 and 2 at 1.30pm: you are in for a real treat! refreshements will be on sale. Please come to the main entrance as we're using the school grounds. It's also our garden party themed lunch so if children want to join in and have school lunch that day, please let us know ASAP! It's also Y6 SATs results day - we'll share the results individually during the day and the children will come out of school with a brown envelope! Make sure they hand it over! Remember, whatever the results, we are immensely proud of Year 6 and know how skilled and talented they are in things that the SATs don't test!
Thursday - we have Class 3 showing off their recorder skills: Class 3 parents are invited to come in at the beginning of the day and join us. We also have the team from Step into STEM coming in later that day to celebrate the great work that Year 4 and Year 5 did as part of their 6 week project.
Have a wonderful weekend! See you all on Monday! 13 Likes
